On this episode, I talk about the proposed ordinance that would require pawn shops in Mercer Co. to use a specific website to record their transactions. I spoke with the operator of a pawn shop next to the studio to get some insight from someone who actually deals with this. Then, I talk about the long wait for reliable internet in WV, what might be required to fix it, and whether or not the political and economic will is there to get it done without further state intervention. I wrap up the show by interviewing Mercer County Commissioner Greg Puckett about needle exchange programs. WV passed a law further restricting these kinds of programs, and Commissioner Puckett has some concerns that the law will do more harm than good.
